25 years UITT opens new tourist season in Ukraine

This year the Ukrainian International Travel & Tourism Exhibition UITT'2019 celebrated its 25th  anniversary. Already for a quarter of a century exhibition annually opens tourist season in our country, gathering in one place thousands of visitors, hundreds of companies, dozens of countries around the world. On March 27-29, 2019, 361 leading tourist companies from 23 countries presented the most up-to-date routes for domestic, inbound and outbound tourism, new products and services for professionals in the tourist market.

Industry experts from year to year recognize UITT'2019 as the main event of the country's tourism industry. During three days, visitors were able to get familiar with the best travel industry representatives of Ukraine and the world: travel companies, delegates of hotels, resorts, airlines and airports, as well as representatives of international and national tourist organizations, diplomats from state ministries and departments on the eve of the tourist season, agents of the related industry from Ukraine and 40 countries of the world. This year's event was attended by 18,533 professionals of the tourism industry from all regions of our country and other countries.

The international status of the exhibition is confirmed by the geography of participants. In 2019, national tourism organizations from Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Israel, Spain, Cyprus, Cuba, Morocco, Palestine, Slovakia, Tunisia, Turkey, Sri Lanka participated in this main exhibition of the spring-summer season. In addition, to geography of participants were added Greece, Italy, Slovenia, USA, Ukraine, Montenegro.

Traditionally, the main players of the international and national tourism market have participated in UITT. Together with such industry leaders as Coral Travel, Join UP!, TUI, Feeria Mandriv, Mouzenidis Travel Ukraine, TPG Agency and Na Kanikuly were also presented with stands at UITT. This year's debutants with bright expositions and interesting offers were Kompas, travel company and Pilgrim, travel agencies network. IT tourism solutions were offered by IT-Tour, Online Bistro and Vitiana companies. Their online booking and tour tracking systems make it easier for agents to do their day-to-day work, and give tourists opportunity to get acquainted with current tours from operators. The airline industry was represented by Turkish Airlines, Sky Up and APG Ukraine, which presented novelties from AirSerbia, Bulgaria Air, Aigle Azur Airlines.
With support of the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine (NTOU), for the first time at UITT, new format of presentation of inbound and domestic tourism of Ukraine - Ukrainian Hospitality Days was used. Within this exposition, all the cities and regions of Ukraine were located in the same space, decorated in a uniform style and combined under a single brand. Lightweight, ecological, cardboard stands were chosen for the UHD design. Visitors were presented with the best skiing, health and sea resorts, sightseeing programmes, hotels and entertaining establishments. A large number of tour operators and guides visited the exposition in order to include these companies from 39 cities and regions of Ukraine in their tourist routes.

Special attention at UITT'2019 was devoted to the qualitative development of tourism, because this year in Ukraine declared a year of quality and excellence in tourism. NTOU and UITT strive for travelers to know that Ukraine is open to tourism in all directions: gastro-tourism, eco-tourism, winter, maritime, cultural, as well as events and festivals of MICE.

UITT'2019 business programme was included 50 events and 102 hours of seminars and discussions devoted to the most important issues of the tourism industry. In addition to the seminars from tour operators concerning different travel destinations, in the framework of Ukrainian Hospitality Days there were held conferences, seminars and workshops related to the development of tourism in Ukraine. On the first day of the exhibition, visitors and participants attended the conference «The European Future of Hotel Business in Ukraine. Taxes, tariffs, state regulation», organized by the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine. Tourism Development Center of Ukraine hosted conference: «Domestic tourism: how we are developing further (discussion of practitioners and market experts)», on the second day, and the Kyiv Tourist Association organized meeting with representatives of Serbian and Azerbaijani travel companies for all interested tourists, and it also organizes «Visit Ukraine» conference for foreign travel agencies, with discussion of the best tourist opportunities of our country. The National Tourist Organization of Ukraine paid attention to the development of cruise tourism, having discussed all the topical issues and trends of this market with its representatives at the conference on the third day of the exhibition.
The exhibition was supported by: the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Parliamentary Committee on Family, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the National Tourist Organization of Ukraine, TUI, tourism operator and the network of hotels Barut Hotels.
