Airline Azur Air Ukraine launches direct flights from Kyiv to Cuba

This was reported by representatives of the airline, tour operator and embassy of the Republic of Cuba at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to ANEX Tour Operations Director Irina Oganezova, flights will be operated every 10 days.

“All ready-made vacation packages are on our website. Each tour package includes a flight, an insurance, a hotel, a transfer. In addition to a standard vacation in Varadero, we also offer tours with several days in Havana,” she said.

According to the participants of the press conference, the embassy of the Republic of Cuba was the initiator of the direct flights launch.

“We have been working on the opening of direct flights from Ukraine for a long time. This issue was resolved in different ways. Finally, all forces were united, and this idea became a reality,” said Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Natacha Diaz Aguilera.

Airline Azur Air Ukraine (first Utair Ukraine) began its operations in 2009, changing its name in 2015. The company is based at the international airport "Borispol" (Kyiv region), however, it offers flights from the regions - Kharkov, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Odessa. Currently, the company operates only charter flights.

According to the first deputy general director for production of Azur Air Ukraine, Anatoly Benz, in 2018, the airline carried 1.1 million passengers, making 4.5 thousand flights.
