The capital of Croatia and its Advent has been repeatedly voted by open vote on the popular travel portal European Best Destinations as the best Christmas market in Europe.
Advent is the waiting time for the Nativity of Jesus Christ. This is a 4 weeks pre-Christmas period in Catholic countries. It is a time of anticipation of the holiday, when cities and houses are decorated, music festivals are taking place, scents of mulled wine, sausages and cinnamon are in the air and a festive atmosphere on the streets.
This year Advent in Zagreb will be presented by the Tourism Board and will take place in a slightly different atmosphere. Just to name a few, Zagreb offers its guest streaming of live concerts and an online exhibition called Virtual Christmas Windows.
Visitors will be able to view animated content prepared by the organizers using the Equinox XR software on their mobile phone screen.
A multitude of cultural events, various music programmes and concerts that will create a festive mood in anticipation of Christmas and much more. And this is not all that historical Zagreb has prepared.
